About Google Business Profile Manager (GBPM)
Google Business Profile Manager (GBPM) is a free online dashboard that allows businesses, particularly those with multiple locations, to manage their online presence across Google services like Search and Maps. It provides a centralized location to add and update essential business information, upload photos, respond to reviews, create business groups, and track performance with analytics. This tool helps businesses attract customers by ensuring their profile is accurate and engaging, which is crucial for local search visibility and providing a better user experience.
When to assign Access Rights to others
Keep secret to the Root Access of the GBPM account
Instead of sharing the Root Access to others, i.e. the login and password of the Gmail account which you used to registered for the Google Business Profile Manager account, you can instead only share different levels of Access Rights of GBPM account.
Access Rights Permission Level does matter
If you want to share the Read-Only Access Rights instead of Admin Access Rights which can configure anything inside the GBPM account, you should consider the permission level of the Access Rights
Employment Turnover
Whenever a staff is quit, if you don’t want to change all the passwords the he/she possessed for the GBPM account, you can in the beginning simply assign him/her different Permission level of Access Rights , instead of giving him/her the Root Access of the Google Business Profile Manager account.
Prerequisite of Assigning GBPM Access Rights
As a Assignor
- Ready for login of the Gmail account which has OWNER access rights of the GBPM account. This is not as easy as it seems because most of the time , due to the employee turnover, the organisation may have so many Gmail account that the current marketer have no ideas which Gmail account has the OWNER access rights of the GPBM account.
- Assignee Gmail Address
- Decide which Granularity to Assign
- Usually you may have more than 1 Business which some are active while some is expired or no longer used. Please make sure that you assign Account Level (i.e. Owner) access rights which can access ALL Business in the account, or Business Level access rights which can only access specific Buisness.
