Senior Frontend Web Designer

• Location: Nairobi (Work From Home)
• Official Working Hours: 09:30 – 18:30, Monday to Friday (5-day work week)

Duties:

• Collaborate with the team or work independently on tasks including creative thinking, branding, visualization, content creation, layout design, image processing, animation and website design.
• Interpret client briefs and respond effectively to feedback.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders, and presentation decks.
• Assist in updating the company’s credentials, website, and portfolio.

General Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university
  • Candidates without relevant studies will be considered if they present compelling past work.
• Proven ability and passion for digital design with creative thinking, and passionate with a strong sense of design.
• A proactive individual eager to learn, grow, and contribute while capable of working independently.
• Proficiency in written and speaking English is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills
• Enthusiasm for learning and adapting to new tools and technologies
• Portfolio submission showcasing past work is mandatory
• Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Junior Web Designer role
• Response to message within 2 hours during office hour.

Skill Requirements:

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator is essential; knowledge of Adobe After Effects is a plus.
• Familiar with any kinds of Generative AI Image or Video tools or models is a plus.
• Hand-drawing ability is an advantage.
• Build scalable, responsive layouts with HTML, CSS, SCSS, and jQuery
• Barely understanding on working knowledge of SQL and JavaScript to support backend collaboration
• Design and develop high-performing websites using WordPress, including Gutenberg and Elementor
• Understand and implement Gutenberg Templates and Patterns to create modular and reusable design systems is a plus
• Strong sense on UX design.
• Collaborate with backend programmers to ensure seamless integration of UI with backend logic
• Maintain consistency in design across projects through style guides and component libraries
• Any kinds of ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisior.
